Caesar Creek Trail Guide
Along the trail you can find sugar maple to the side of the path. The sap of the sugar maple was used by the Native Americans and pioneers for sugar and maple syrup. The Native American syrup was made out of maple sap and taste like a sweet honey. The Sugar maple tree produce its syrup when the weather gets cold. The sugar and starch are produced by the tree and rise to the sap and makes the sap sweet and thick.

There are many other species of maple trees. The most common are red and black which get their names from there leaves. The red maples leaves are red and the black maple tree has darker green leaves that look black from a far. As you can see in the picture the leaf of the maple tree looks like a W but with pointy sides. You can find the sugar maple all around Caesar Creek. Every year in February, the Pioneer Village has a maple syrup making event. To find out information about the event call 513-897-2437.
